Director of the Academy

As of February 2026, the position of Director of the UAG Academy is held by Nika Tikanashvili. He holds a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering and has extensive academic, research, and managerial experience in the field of air transport operations.

Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership and expert positions in educational and governmental institutions, including the Georgian Aviation University, the Administration of the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Regional Development of Georgia, and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.

Nika Tikanashvili is actively involved in the development of aviation education, quality assurance of vocational and higher education programs, and the implementation and management of international and state-funded grant projects. These projects have been supported by leading international aviation organizations and corporations such as ICAO, EUROCONTROL, the FAA, BOEING, and others.

He is the author and co-author of numerous high-impact scientific publications as well as an aviation-related textbook. Nika Tikanashvili also delivers lecture courses in aviation disciplines and regularly participates in international aviation conferences and expert working groups.
