Tbilisi International Airport is the largest airport, serving Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, located 17km south-east of Tbilisi – in the center of the city and provides convenient access to the capital and surrounding regions. Airport is operated by TAV Georgia.
In recent years, it has undergone renovations and expansions to accommodate the increasing passenger traffic - new arrival terminal was built in 2017, runway was significantly renovated, aircraft parking lots were repaired and expanded, new car parking lots were arranged. In May 2022 a new taxiway was also opened in Tbilisi International Airport.
In 2024, Tbilisi International Airport served over 4.75 million passengers, marking a 29% increase from 2023 and a 25% rise from 2019. Flight operations also saw significant growth, with a 30% year-on-year increase compared to 2023 and a 25% rise from 2019.
These achievements earned Tbilisi Airport a ranking among the top ten global airports handling up to 5 million passengers, as recognized by the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2024.
